Techno Brain, Africa’s leading ICT Solutions, IT Education & Training and BPO / ITES Services provider proudly announced the collaboration between KCA University (KCAU) and Techno Brain Training Division for a five year industry based ICT degree and global professional certification programme aimed at reviewing the ICT University. This initiative was marked by signing of an MoU by Mr. Manoj Shanker – CEO, Techno Brain Group and Prof. Noah Midamba – Vice Chancellor & CEO, KCA University.
Commencing from January 2015, this joint collaboration will ensure the curriculum taught in the University meets current industry demands, addressing the growing shortage of ICT skills in the East African region.
“We churn out thousands of graduates into the market, but they face a challenge in the job market as they do not match the skill set that employers are looking for, and Techno Brain through the Centre of Excellence will tackle this head-on with a goal of increasing capacity of our people in ICT. Techno Brain’s centre of excellence will address this challenge by imparting high-end ICT training”, said Manoj Shanker – CEO, Techno Brain Group.
Techno Brain will establish a centre of excellence at KCA’s main campus in Ruraka which will offer, for the first time in Africa, high end ICT training in the areas of banking, insurance, finance, marketing and human resources, using the latest state-of-the-art ICT equipment and technology tools. Students at KCA will be taught by visiting industry experts from 26 countries across the globe where Techno Brain has presence, in addition to hands on access to the latest technology tools, improving the students’ employability upon graduation.
Speaking at the MoU Signing, Prof. Noah Midamba, Vice Chancellor & CEO, KCAU said that, “primary goal of this unique capacity building programme is to build the next generation of globally competitive ICT leadership and technology talent that will transform Kenya through a world-class service to benefit the private and public sectors”.
This capacity building initiative will support the Kenya ICT Master Plan 2014 – 2017 which recommends developing and sustaining talent as well as nurturing an ICT ready workforce to meet the needs of the fast changing economy.
“Techno Brain will also help the faculty to supervise student projects, ensure that they meet the market threshold and encourage the students to consider commercializing their projects upon graduation. This will also foster entrepreneurship and employment opportunities among the graduates”, said Ajay Alva – Strategic Alliances Director, Techno Brain Training Division.
